At the 3rd European Diabetes Nursing Conference 5-7 October in Leverkusen, Germany, Bayer Healthcare-Diabetes Care announced their support for the campaign for a UN Resolution on diabetes.
“I am glad to be able to announce formally today that Bayer will be supporting this United Nations Resolution initiative as a Corporate partner,” said Sandra Peterson, President of Bayer Diabetes Care and keynote speaker at the event attended by 260 diabetes nurses from Europe and Japan. This year’s theme was “Choice: How to Achieve the Balancing Act in Diabetes Care.”
Anne Felton, the chair of the Federation of European Nurses in Diabetes (FEND) and chair of the UN Resolution’s Promotion and Awareness Group, chaired the conference. She welcomed Bayer’s support in partnering with the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) in support of the ‘Unite for Diabetes’ campaign.
“This announcement clearly indicates Bayer’s commitment to fulfil its corporate social responsibility, particularly to people with diabetes,” said Felton. “On behalf of the ‘Unite for Diabetes’ campaign, we are enormously appreciative of Bayer’s commitment and support to this humanitarian cause.”
