UN Resolution gathers more UK support at Welsh Assembly

A launch of the ’Unite for Diabetes’ campaign for a UN Resolution on diabetes was held on July 12 at the National Assembly for Wales in Cardiff, and was hosted by Rhodri Glyn Thomas AM, Chair of the Assembly’s Health Committee. The event drew around 30 attendees, including Assembly Members, people with diabetes, clinicians, and representatives of the pharmaceutical industry. Assembly Members from several parties immediately agreed to a cross-party motion in favour of the UN Resolution, and Diabetes UK will be working during the coming months to persuade as many members as possible to sign up to it.
