To reach more young people in his native country, IDF Youth Ambassador Sergi Vernet has joined with his local diabetes association to create a youth panel website in Spanish to support the ‘Unite for Diabetes’ campaign.
On the website, http://www.fundaciondiabetes.org/unidosporladiabetes/index.html, information is available about the Resolution, the campaign and forums explaining relevant information. The website also provides the latest news about the Spanish Youth Panel, the campaign, activities and agenda. It is hosted by Fundación para la Diabetes, the diabetes association that Sergi has worked closely with and staunch supporters of the campaign for a UN Resolution on diabetes.
The Spanish Youth Panel was created by Sergi and consists of 26 youths who gathered for the first time in October to discuss diabetes, discrimination against people living with diabetes and other issues. The panel will meet again in February 2007.
