Mr Francis Gonikai, Chairman of the Central Africa Diabetes Association, has been promoting the campaign for a United Nations Resolution on diabetes in his country. He was recently interviewed by local radio to explain the importance of the Resolution. As a result of the media attention, he has received numerous calls from people who are eager to know more about and offer support to the ’Unite for Diabetes’ campaign. Mr Gonikai and his association are on a waiting list to meet shortly with the Minister of Health and hand out a memorandum to highlight the campaign and the need for governmental support.
