ADA advocates lobby for campaign in the United States
02 Nov 2006 15:44
The American Diabetes Association marshalled its membership to advocate on behalf of the campaign for a UN Resolution on diabetes.
Highlighting the seriousness of the global diabetes epidemic, ADA urged its members to support the Resolution’s passage and the designation of November 14, World Diabetes Day as an official UN Day.
ADA also urged its advocates to lobby the US government to support the Resolution at the UN. “Having the support of the United States would send a powerful message to the world about the seriousness of this disease.”
Members were also asked to sign the global online petition. We welcome ADA’s advocacy on behalf of the campaign.
